6:52 PM All Natural Cure for Ear Infections |
Several weeks ago, I woke up with a severe aching in my ear at about 2:00 in the morning. I took two ibuprofin to calm it down but the pain did not go away. I wound up taking four ibuprofin just to get back to sleep. When I woke up the next day, my ear still hurt though not as bad. It was difficult to hear and a tingly sensation surrounded my ear/jaw. For some strange reason, this was my third time getting this as an adult. I say strange because this is something that is generally assigned to children. Not me, however, I’m special! To make matters worse, I waited two days somehow with the naïve hope that it would just "go away." As the pain increased as well as a slight dizziness, I was faced with the decision, "Do I go see the doctor and pay ‘X’ amount of dollars so that he can tell me I have an ear infection, which I already know, and prescribe me the medication that I already know I need and pay ‘X’ amount of dollars?” I caved in but found out soon after calling the clinic that they were closed. Now I would have to shell out even more money to go to the ‘after hours’ section of the clinic. I wouldn’t budge this time. I went to the library and did some research. It turns out that mullein flower and garlic have strong antibiotic properties and can be used on the ear. I actually knew that during WWII, the Russian army gave their soldiers garlic when penicillin ran out. The problem was that either I didn’t know exactly how to administer it (which was true) or I didn’t really believe it. I was faced with a dilemma but instead of running the other way, I reminded myself that when I experimented with High Intensity Training, I had tried every workout program under the sun so why not experiment and see if it actually works. In like manner, I applied myself as the proverbial guinea pig and went to the local organic food store, bought a small tincture bottle of Mullein/Garlic Ear Drops and tested it. Guess what? It worked. I dropped 4 drops of the solution, which is based in olive oil, in my ear every 6 hours for 10 days. I did this while lying on my side, letting it run into the eardrum (it felt good). To stop the oily solution from leaking, I inserted a piece of a cotton ball for about an hour and then took it out. I thought that this information would be especially useful for infants, whom I would probably only use 2 drops every 6 hours. I think it is great to actually use the herbs that God gave us! I probably saved a total of a $100 and spent $12.00. If you are interested in this, it is the "Mullein/Garlic Ear Drops” tincture bottle and can be found at: herbsetc.com |
